If you use this feature to communicate with other people, you might have noticed the \u201cblue tick\u201d while chatting with others. Like WhatsApp, the blue tick indicates the same \u2013 the recipient has read or seen your message. Similarly, if you read someone\u2019s message, that person can also get a blue tick. The default setting of Twitter does it automatically. However, if you want to disable read receipts on Twitter like you can do on Outlook, here is what you have to do.<\/p>\n<h3>What happens when you disable Twitter direct message read receipts<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li>Message senders cannot find the blue tick even if you read or see their message on the official Twitter website.<\/li>\n<li>You cannot find the blue tick when someone reads your message.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are okay with the second point, you can go ahead and make the change like said here.<\/p>\n<h2>Enable or disable Read Receipt for Twitter Direct Messages<\/h2>\n<p>To enable or disable read receipt for Twitter direct messages, follow these steps-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Twitter website.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your username and password to log in.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <em>More<\/em> button.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <em>Settings and privacy<\/em> option from the list.<\/li>\n<li>Switch to <em>Privacy and safety<\/em> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Find out <em>Show read receipts<\/em> option.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the tick to disable read receipts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Let\u2019s check out these steps in detail.<\/p>\n<p>At first, open up the official website of Twitter and enter your login credentials to sign in to your account. Once you are done, click the <strong>More <\/strong>button on your left-hand side, and select <strong>Settings and privacy <\/strong>from the list.
