If you don&#8217;t want anyone deleting or renaming or messing around with your data,<em> maybe your younger sibling<\/em>, then Prevent may be able to help you. It is a free tool that can stop Cut, Paste, Copy, Delete, Move, Send and Renaming of files and folders on your Windows computer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3388 size-full\" title=\"Prevent software\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/prevent.jpg\" alt=\"Prevent software\" width=\"529\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/prevent.jpg 529w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/prevent-150x98.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/prevent-400x262.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 529px) 100vw, 529px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prevent software for Windows PC<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The downloaded zip file consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prevent.exe<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pre_1<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pre_2<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Read Me file.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uninstall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Run the Prevent installer setup. The installer only places the Prevent folder in the system Program Files folder<span class=\"gmw_\">. A desktop shortcut will also be created. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"gmw_\">To run the program, click on Prevent. Set your Hotkey to <span class=\"gm_ gm_62a80ea4-a2e1-d3bc-9524-282029965d84 gm-spell\">stop<\/span> Prevent. You may set it as <\/span><strong>Ctrl+P <\/strong><span class=\"gmw_\"><span class=\"gmw_\">if you wish.\u00a0Hotkeys\u00a0<strong>Win+F8<\/strong>\u00a0kills Pre_1 and <strong>Win+F9<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"gm_ gm_533079ab-04da-58a0-a67e-dd58866a8667 gm-spell\">kills<\/span> Pre_2, too. But the single <\/span><span class=\"gm_ gm_ac1a92e3-49fd-deb2-6b27-545f918693d0 gm-spell\">hotkey<\/span> set by you will kill all Prevent processes at the same time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prevent Cut, Paste, Copy, Delete, Re-naming of files &amp; folders<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/how-to-protect-files-folders-from-being-deleted-accidentally\">protect Files or Folders from being deleted accidentally<\/a>. PREVENT does the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Cut<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Paste<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Copy<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Delete<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Copy To<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Move to<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stops Send To<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prevents renaming<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Disables Task Manager&#8217;s End Process button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, it doesn&#8217;t allow you to right-click on the process name and click on the end process. It also grays out the context menu items, disables Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, and Ctrl+V and\/or stops the process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To uninstall or remove Prevent, use the Uninstaller situated in the Prevent folder, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/uninstall-a-program-in-windows\">uninstall it via the Control Panel<\/a> or simply delete its Program folder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/downloads\/Prevent.zip\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-760\" title=\"Download\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/download1.gif\" alt=\"Download\" width=\"222\" height=\"49\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/download1.gif 222w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/download1-20x4.gif 20w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 222px) 100vw, 222px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/downloads\/Prevent.zip\">Prevent v1.0<\/a><\/strong> has been developed by TWC Forum member, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/riteshkawadkar\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Ritesh Kawadkar<\/a> for TheWindowsClub.
