In this article, we will show you how to install the Gmail app in Windows 11\/10<\/strong>. There is no official Gmail app available in Windows 11, but we can create a desktop shortcut to open Gmail by installing the Gmail Web Progressive Web App from Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers.<\/p>\n

\"How<\/p>\n

You can install Gmail as an app using Chrome and Edge browser. These browsers let you install websites as apps. So once you install Gmail as an app, it will work the same as a dedicated app.\u00a0Do note that this feature is not available in Mozilla Firefox.<\/p>\n

We will show you how to install the Gmail app in Windows 11 by using the following two web browsers:<\/p>\n

Install the Gmail app on Windows 11 by using Edge<\/h2>\n

    After installing the Gmail app from Microsoft Edge, you can also choose your preferred options for the Gmail app such as Pin to taskbar, Pin to Start, Create Desktop shortcut, and then click the Allow button.<\/p>\n

    Google Chrome also gives you a feature to Install the Gmail Progressive Web App on your Windows 11 computer. The following instructions will guide you on this.<\/p>\n

      We have seen the process to install the Gmail app on Windows 11. Now, let’s see how to use the Gmail app on Windows 11. Here, we will discuss some features of the Gmail app for Edge and Chrome. Both the Gmail apps have some different features.<\/p>\n

      How to use Gmail app for Edge<\/h3>\n

      If you install the Gmail app from Microsoft Edge, you will get some additional features as compared to installing the same from Google Chrome. Let’s have a look.<\/p>\n

      \"Refresh<\/strong><\/p>\n

      After opening the Gmail app on your system, you can view all your emails just like the Gmail in Edge browser. On the top left side, there is a Refresh<\/strong> icon. Click on it to refresh the Gmail app. Click on the three horizontal dots on the top right side to view more options in the Gmail app.<\/p>\n

      \"Sidebar<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The Gmail app for Edge has one additional feature known as Sidebar. This feature is not present in the Gmail app for Chrome. You can configure the Sudebar to open the links from your Gmail in the Sidebar or in the Edge browser. To do so, click on the three horizontal dots and select Sidebar > Open external links in sidebar<\/strong>. To undo the action, repeat the same step. Basically, you have to check and uncheck the Open links in the sidebar option.<\/p>\n

      The features in the Gmail app for Chrome are almost the same as we described above (the Gmail app for Edge). Open the Gmail app you installed from Chrome and click on the three vertical dots to view all the available options.<\/p>\n

      Do note that if you sign out your Gmail account in your web browser, you will automatically be signed out in its respective app.<\/p>\n
