If Outlook is corrupted, the folders might just get deleted due, however, we can repair the app to get the folder back and start storing all your templates. Templates can also get deleted automatically if there is a faulty third-party add-in or if your Outlook profile is corrupted. We will address all of those scenarios hereinafter.<\/p>\n<h2>Fix Outlook Templates keep disappearing<\/h2>\n<p>If Outlook Templates keep disappearing, follow the solutions mentioned below to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check if your templates are there in Add-ins<\/li>\n<li>Check the location where your templates are stored<\/li>\n<li>Repair Office<\/li>\n<li>Check if third-party add-ins are causing the issue<\/li>\n<li>Build a new profile<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Let us talk about them in detail.<\/p>\n<h4>1] Check if your templates are there in Add-ins<\/h4>\n<p>If the Template option is missing, the very first thing you need to do is check all your templates are there in add-ins. For that, go to\u00a0<em>My add-ins\u00a0<\/em><em>&gt; My Templates\u00a0<\/em>and then check if all your templates are there not.<\/p>\n<h4>2] Check the location where your templates are stored<\/h4>\n<p>Microsoft Office stores all your data, including templates in a particular folder. If that folder is missing, all your templates will disappear. In order to check the location, follow the steps mentioned below.<\/p>\n<p>Open\u00a0<em>File Explorer\u00a0<\/em>using Win + E.<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to the following location.<\/p>\n<pre>C:\\Users\\&lt;UserName&gt;\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft<\/pre>\n<p><em>Note: Make sure to replace &lt;UserName&gt; with your actual username.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now, check for the\u00a0<strong>Templates\u00a0<\/strong>folder.<\/p>\n<p>If it&#8217;s not there, we need to repair Outlook, so, move to the next solution to know how to do the same.<\/p>\n<h4>3] Repair Office<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-425014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Repair-Microsoft-Office-365.jpg\" alt=\"Repair Microsoft Office 365\" width=\"700\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Repair-Microsoft-Office-365.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Repair-Microsoft-Office-365-500x239.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Repair-Microsoft-Office-365-300x144.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is aware of the fact that Outlook is vulnerable and has the tendency to get corrupted because of various factors. To counter that, they have added an option to repair the Outlook files. If your Templates folder is missing or it&#8217;s there, but your templates are not getting stored, your best option is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/how-to-repair-office-2010-or-uninstall-individual-office-2010-programs\">repair Office<\/a>. You can follow the steps mentioned below to do the same.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open\u00a0<em>Settings\u00a0<\/em>by Win + I.<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<em>Apps &gt; Installed\u00a0<\/em>apps or\u00a0<em>Apps &amp; features.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Search for\u00a0<em>Microsoft 365\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Office.<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Windows 11:\u00a0<\/strong>Click on the three dots and select\u00a0<em>Modify.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows 10:\u00a0<\/strong>Select the app and click on <em>Modify.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Now, click on Yes when prompted by UAC<\/li>\n<li>Finally, select\u00a0<em>Quick Repair\u00a0<\/em>and click on Repair.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Finally, check if the issue is resolved. So, we are going to find out which one of the add-ins is causing the issue and then delete it. To do the same, follow the steps mentioned below.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the\u00a0<em>Outlook\u00a0<\/em>app.<\/li>\n<li>Now, go to\u00a0<em>File\u00a0<\/em>and then select <em>Options <\/em>from the left panel.<\/li>\n<li>You then have to go to the <em>Add-ins\u00a0<\/em>options.<\/li>\n<li>Then set\u00a0<em>Manage\u00a0<\/em>to\u00a0<em>COM Add-ins\u00a0<\/em>using the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Now, click on Go.<\/li>\n<li>You will see all your COM Add-ins, just uncheck all of their boxes and then disable them.<\/li>\n<li>Once they are disabled, check if the issue is resolved.<\/li>\n<li>If the templates are saving, enable COM Add-ins manually to find out which one of them is causing the issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can delete the one causing this whole issue and call it a day.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"code-block code-block-2\">5] Build a new profile<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-448200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/open-file-location-outlook.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/open-file-location-outlook.png 700w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/open-file-location-outlook-500x251.png 500w, https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/open-file-location-outlook-300x150.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In case your current profile is corrupted, we need to create a new one and resolve the issue. To do the same, follow the steps mentioned below.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open\u00a0<em>Outlook\u00a0<\/em>and then go to\u00a0<em>File.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Click on\u00a0<em>Account Settings\u00a0<\/em>and then select\u00a0<em>Account Settings&#8230;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<em>Data Files\u00a0<\/em>tab.<\/li>\n<li>Just select your Email ID and click on\u00a0<em>Open file location.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Now, close Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Look for the <strong>.ost\u00a0<\/strong>file and then copy it.<\/li>\n<li>Now, paste it somewhere.<\/li>\n<li>You then have to delete the\u00a0<strong>.ost\u00a0<\/strong>file from the original location.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, open\u00a0<em>Outlook\u00a0<\/em>and create a new profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This will do the job for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/how-to-reset-outlook-view-to-default-on-windows-pc\">How to reset Outlook view to default on Windows PC<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Where did my templates go in Outlook?<\/h3>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t find the My Templates button in Outlook web app, you can enable it by going to Manage Add-Ins and checking the box for My Templates.
